Maintenance indicators (MTBF, MTTR, OEE)

A mature CMMS doesn't just log work orders: it turns that data into indicators that guide improvement.

Content reviewed on

MTBF and MTTR

Mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR), the two classic indicators of reliability and responsiveness.

OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)

An indicator combining availability, performance, and quality to measure how much production actually gets out of installed capacity.

Maintenance cost

Tracking maintenance cost per equipment, to identify assets worth replacing instead of continuing to repair.

What an auditor usually asks for

  • MTBF and MTTR calculated per critical equipment
  • OEE tracked on key production equipment
  • Maintenance cost per equipment available
  • Maintenance dashboard reviewed periodically

How to cover this block in Kimobox

  1. 1Set up automatic MTBF and MTTR calculation from work orders in Kimobox.
  2. 2Track key equipment OEE from the dashboard.
  3. 3Review accumulated maintenance cost per equipment periodically.

Maintenance indicators calculate themselves from the work orders already logged.
