Internal and external context

Covers the automotive supply chain, product approval requirements and factors specific to the sector.

Customer-specific requirements (CSRs)

Each OEM publishes its own specific requirements on top of the standard; you need to identify them, keep them current and apply them per customer.

Scope of the system

Defines which plants, processes and products are covered, with no exclusion of design possible when the manufacturer designs product.

What an auditor usually asks for

  • A list of customer-specific requirements (CSRs) per OEM
  • A context record reviewed with a supply-chain focus
  • A scope statement with no design exclusions where applicable
  • A process map flagging which CSR applies to each process

How to cover context in Kimobox

  1. 1Log each customer's specific requirements on the relevant project or process record.
  2. 2Log the supply-chain context as just another record in the system.
  3. 3Draw the process map flagging which CSR applies to each process.

Each customer's specific requirements stay linked to the process or project, not in a PDF nobody rereads.
