Social responsibility performance review template
The periodic stocktake of what has been done, what has worked and what needs to change, backed by data and by the views of those affected.
In one sentence
The social responsibility performance review looks each year at progress on the action plan, the indicators, complaints and stakeholder feedback, and decides what to improve; it is good practice for applying clause 7.7 of ISO 26000, which recommends periodically monitoring, reviewing and improving social responsibility actions and practices.

What the standard requires
What ISO 26000:2010 demands and what it leaves to your judgement
The guidance recommends monitoring social responsibility activities, reviewing progress at suitable intervals, making data collection more reliable and adjusting actions in the light of results and of changes in circumstances or stakeholder expectations.
Communicating the outcome —a report, a statement or the website— follows naturally from the review, and the guidance covers it in clause 7.5.

Frequently asked questions
What people ask us before getting started
Do we have to publish a report?
ISO 26000 recommends communicating but does not impose a report. For companies within the scope of the CSRD, publishing the sustainability report is a legal obligation with its own format.
Can it be folded into the management review of the management system?
Yes, and that is the most practical option if the company holds ISO 9001 or ISO 14001: an agenda with a dedicated social responsibility item saves an extra meeting.
